Project Committee

Eva Scarfe (Australia)

PBI El Salvador Team Member 1988-90.

Accompaniment of Guatemalan Refugees in Mexico 1991-1992.

Accompaniment of CPR-Ixcan 1993-98.

Facilitated workshops with Guatemalan refugees and with the CPRs in the Ixcan.

PBI Colombia Team Member 2000-01.

Member of PBI Exploratory Delegation to Guatemala 2001.

Member of the PBI Guatemala team 2003.

Worked for the Diocesis in the Ixcan and representing PBI in Guatemala 2002.

 

Montse Garcia Blas (Spain)

Member of PBI Spain until 1996.

PBI Guatemala Team Member 1997-98 WOLA (Washington Office on Latin America) 1999-2000.

Consultant for the WOLA "Programa Centroamericano de Capacitacion en Incidencia" as part of their Central America Program.

Experience in the preparation and leading of PBI trainings for the Guatemala Project.

Project Coordinator between 2002 and 2008.

 

Emma Marshall (United Kingdom)

Member of PBI Guatemala Field Team 2007.

Media and communications coordinator for PBI United Kingdom (PBI UK).

Wide experience of both Journalism and the creation and development of publications.

Coordinator of English Translation of the project publications and other materials.

 

Silvio Köhler (Germany)

Masters in Political Science 'Freie Universität Berlin' 2003.

Member of the PBI Guatemala field team 2005-2006.

Project Officer, PBI Germany 2006-2007. Responsible for Public Relations and advocacy.

Advisor for Local Economic Development, German Development Service (DED) in Ghana 2007-2009. Preparation and moderation of dialogue boards, Human Rights Based Approach.

Masters in Peace and Reconciliation, Coventry University, UK since 2008. Focusing on analysis and transformation of conflicts.

Coordinator of the Philippines Human Rights Network in Germany since 2009. Responsible for Public Relations and advocacy.

Maria Serra (Spain)

PBI Guatemala Team Member 1988-1990.

Facilitated workshops in Peace Education and Political Analysis with Guatemalan groups 1990-96.

Served on the coordinating committee of PBI Guatemala in the role of advisor.

Executive Director of Entrepueblos 1991-2000.

Experience in preparing and leading PBI trainings in political analysis.

Cristina Barbeito (Spanish) - Coordinator

Lived in Guatemala from 2002 to 2005 where she became familiar with the work of PBI in the country.

As a legal professional, she has a great deal of training in international human rights.

Masters in 'Fundamental Rights' from the University of Carlos III in Madrid between 2001-2002

Masters Degree in Human Rights from the University of Rafael Landívar (URL, Guatemala City) between 2002-2004.

Worked in Guatemala with 'Rights Action' and was a volunteer in the office of Spanish NGO Acsur Las Segovias. She has also worked as a consultant on the issue of Justice in the Round Table dialogues of the PNUD (2003-2004).

Part of the PBI project committee since May 2008.

Coordinator of the PBI Guatemala Project since November 2008.
